due to the nature of the people involved. puplic research into the subject may change carry on luggage permanently. I have always had a positive view of society (violence wise) based on the fact that these things don't happen often cosidering the availabilty of knowledge and lack of its use for bad things. I've been angry often being delayed travelling thinking "if it's going to happen, it will happen. why play the bad guys game? if we fear death less, than so be it." The problem lies in the emotional toll of losing loved ones and the violence and hate created. We may not need these measures to protect our own personal lives, but to protect the more peaceful belief system of those who continue living that we hold dear. If one loses a child they may become hostile themselves and respond with hate and violence. Its a vicious cycle. Carry on luggage provides a person with the capability to complete an otherwise undetectable system. Checked on baggage would require autonomous complexity which may be more easily detected or scrutinized without holding up the plane. luggage would simply arrive late. all of this may be unpleasant, but may change public opinion on what is justifiable for the protection of public interest. Is it a liberty we sacrifice checking in vs. carrying on? The plot to change our lives has already been won. now we must adapt to enjoying our lives by changing our methodology. I am willing to risk my life to keep liberty and to show no fear, but not that of my child travelling alone or living without me full of hate for those who took my life. A more socialist America is inevitable, but lets nip facism and intolerance in the bud. I sound like a Bush voting conservative, but the truth is non partisan.

of a delayed departure, going trough
the hassle and all of that stuff, then

I, too, hope it was foiled, and that this is not a diversionary tactic.
