I think generally, though I'd like to know how you define each group. I find a fair percentage of GOPers in the lower middle class. The lefties will descend on you for the elite rich, but you hit it right. The "limousine liberals" are growing and they like policies that severely limit "lesser types" getting into their clubs.

For many years, I was a registered Democrat, I was making a nice living. I started thinking, the tax loving government is stealing too much of my pay and wasting it on their pet projects; enlightened by my aunt and from observation, I saw that the Democrats were the true culprits, they prefer to fund their projects with "other people's money".

As time went on, the work I did slowly eroded due to manufacturing techniques eliminating the need for as many technicians in the field. So, I took work that paid less.... I really started to feel the tax bite of the Democrats, I could no longer afford their creative taxation policies. I became an unregistered Republican as far as voting. Now that I am once again making a better wage, I am an Independent.... both parties have become too liberal.

Your stats leave out independents, but maybe their #s are so low that it makes no difference.

Once a person sees the parties for what they really are, it is difficult to give allegience to either of the two major outfits.

For the most part probably. The problem seems that a lot of those lower middle class people are voting against their interest. If it were exactly like you say, the dems would kill in every election. It wouldn't even be close. The middle class and lower make up the overwhelming majority of the population in the U.S.

Seeing Clearly- The reps are doing the exact same thing now but even worse. At least the dems want the taxes to go to helping the people who need it, other than what we see happening now..

BTW- Your elite rich.. I think that's way off, you obvioulsy take the radios word on that.. They like to focus only on hollywood and not the mainstream greedy corporate rich...

Good thinking. (but notice that almost all Democrat Senators are filthy rich. There are just as many or more wealthy Democrats than there are Republicans.)

Back in the old days, working people voted Democrat. Not anymore!

It took us working people generations to wise up but we finally discovered that the Democrats were taking our hard earned money from us with their taxes.

Its not that I dont think these things can be broken down in this fashion I just think you have the wrong numbers. Nice try but I would have not put in any numbers at all.
