yes I beleive no matter where your married it depends on the love and comitment of two to make it work not a church or other wise, my first marriage was in achurch and it failes after 4 yrs, my second husband and I have ben together for 20 yrs and we got married in the vfw in the game room, so it doesnt matter.

I don't think it matters at all HOW you got married, but what your views on marriage are, how well you get along, how compatible you are (do you want the same things from life, enjoy the similar things), how well you communicate, and how you treat each other. My husband and I got married very spur of the moment by a judge, at the county courthouse, in his his chambers, on his lunch hour. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and my husband was holding our one year old son.
And we've been married for ten years and I love him more now than I did then. Because we're committed to making it work, agreed that divorce isn't something we want, and communication we're still working on, but the key word there is working. But we always treat each other with kindness and respect.

Of course. It isn't about the ceremony, it is about the love and commitment of the two people getting married. Me and my hubby eloped to Vegas. We have been married for 10 happy years and look forward to many, many more.

Yes. It just depends on how well the people can communicate. Look at people around here, they went to the hp and lasted 50 years, and celebs spend $250,000 on their wedding and divorced in a week!

IN 1985 THE MAN I WAS LIVING WITH CAME IN AND SAID THAT HE WAS GOING TO GET OFF WORK EARLY AND WE COULD GET MARRIED THAT DAY. WE ALREADY HAD OUR MARRIAGE LICENSE. THAT WAS AT NOON ON CHRISTMAS EVE. HE WAS GETTING OFF AT 3PM. IN THOSE THREE HOURS I CALLED A FLOREST AND HAD A BOUQUET MADE, CALLED A FRIEND AND ASKED IF WE COULD GET MARRIED IN HER HOUSE THAT AFTERNOON,(WE LIVED IN THE COUNTRY) CALLED A JUDGE AND ASKED HIM IF HE WOULD PREFORM THE CEREMONY, CALLED MY CHILDREN (IT WAS MY SECOND MARRIAGE) AND TOLD THEM WHEN AND WHERE. WE GOT MARRIED THEN WENT HOME. MY NEW HUSBAND HAD TO BE AT WORK BY 7:30 AM ON CHRISTMAS DAY. THAT WAS OVER 20 YEARS AGO. WE ARE STILL MARRIED. I CAN'T IMAGINE MY LIFE WITHOUT HIM.
WHEN WHERE AND HOW IS NOT NEARLY AS IMPORTANT AS LOVE, TRUST, FRIENDSHIP, AND LISTENING WHEN THE OTHER SPEAKS AND VALUING THEIR OPINION. YOU DON'T HAVE TO AGREE. BUT RECOGNIZE THEIR RIGHT TO IT.

I think marriages last based on the commitment, values and love shared by the two people in the union. How they tie the knot is irrelevant.

It doesn't matter where or how you are married. What matters is your relationship together. Those that both give 100% and stick together through thick and thin are the ones that last.

Some JP weddings last longer. Weddings depend on the couple - if you can afford it make it as memorable as you want but don't feel like you have to cater to friends and family.
