Michelle Wie was ranked like 13th at that golf tournament, but she had more spectators than the GUY who was ranked first. When we watch golf, shouldn't we be interested in who the best golfer is? Isn' this sexist discrimination?

This is also happening at high school sporting events. And college.

Are we encouraging women too much and guys not enough?

People like to watch women, it's just a thing. Name ten female supermodels. Good. Now name ten male supermodels. Can't do it, can you?

you are the one who is making this into a sexist issue. If Michelle has acquired that many spectators then that good for her.
Just like any other sport. THere's been lots of times that the "underdog" has had more fans that the "top pick".

Also I wouldn't doubt that more than a hand full of folks were there to be the first to watch her fall on her face--if it happened.

Anyone has a right to they're fifteen minutes of fame. Its what is done after this that truely defines a person.

yes, I've seen that too. I do think it is a bit ironic though, that radical feminists have become exactly what they hated, chauvinists. But that's kind of how society is, social trends swing from one extreme to another with a brief period of moderation in the middle like a pendulum.

Hmmmm, perhaps we should compare the salaries of male and female professional athletes.

I think sometimes feminism goes to far, but in this case, I think its more about oogling than it is about feminism.

Oh, I don't think so...Women still pretty much have free run of the kitchen and the bedroom and they can wear shoes once in awhile.

Would it depend upon the demonstration as much as the ability? You can't choose who people will go to see or their motives.

Yes, it has. It was all started by someone who wanted her 15 minutes of fame.
