Heartburn is not really about the foods you choose to eat (though an exception can be made for extremely spicy foods). Heartburn is caused more by overeating or a weak muscle at the top of the stomach called the cardiac sphincter. Both of these events lead to gastric juices getting forced up the esophagus during digestion.
To answer your question, try to stay away from spicy foods, caffenated beverages, aspirin and avoid overeating.

Anything that has any amount of acid in it. Examples are anything tomato based, lemons, coffee, orange juice, and chocolate. Also, you should avoid anything fried or spicy foods as well. Hope you feel better!

Anything with a high acid content, i.e. tomato sauce, citrus juices, overly spicy foods and sauces. Mints are killers for me, especially peppermint.

anything spicy i would avoid
also if you go to your doctor & let them know they can prescribe medication, i would recommend Prevacid, you take it every morning to prevent the heartburn in the first place =) works great
