Survival Rate.
What a frightening thought! It means that most people in your state of health, usually die in five years. But I wouldn't start planning the funeral just yet. The doctors told me I had cancer. I wouldn't accept that diagnosis and decided I'm too darn stubborn to die yet. When they did the final test, they found no trace of cancer.
I worked as a nurses aid for 22 years and saw several cases that baffled the doctors. Patients that had been given a death prognosis, refused to accept it and healed themselves and went on to live meaningful lives.
The mind is a wonderous thing and can accomplish much, if one has the desire to live.
My heart goes out to you, for you must be worried.

It means that the person should live at least 5 more years...
"survival rate
The percentage of people in a study or treatment group who are alive for a given period of time after diagnosis. This is commonly expressed as 5-year survival. "

according to the medical profession - possibly yes....
but what do doctors know? the diagnose someone to the grave all the time and people everyday are living days, months, years past those "survival dates"
try meditation, yoga, and get lots of support. you would be amazed at the power and strength of the human soul!
there have been cases upon cases of cancer patients that went into remission strictly from meditation or prayer.
GOOD LUCK!

That would depend on your attitude and beliefs. Just because a Doctor says it does not make it gospel. Doc's don't know everything.
Change your belief about the problem and find innovative ways to heal it.
Silva Mind control comes to mind.

it means that in the past, people with that same exact diagnosis have lived ON AVERAGE for abour 5 years. it can mean one can live for 10 years and it can mean one can live for 1 year. its based on statistics.
i hope you're asking just for general knowledge and that the doctor did not say that to you. if he did, take it with a grain of salt. statistics are statistics, not human. good luck.

Noooooooooo. They told my dad that when he was told he had lung cancer. He lived longer then the doctor's prediction. But then again he turned down all treatment. And that is what the doctor's said extended is life. It was his choice to refuse. And for that we had him around for a bit longer.
