Music isn't aluminun, it shouldn't be recycled. Remixes and sequals are 55% of the industry these days, I would like to see more original material. I enjoy live covers, but that's about it. Using someone elses great Ideas to get ahead is lame. Most musicians couldn't write their way out of a wet paper bag these days.

For

I totally agree that remixes have killed the soul of music. They take something that is so beautiful as it is and then butcher it by adding a rap or something; don't get me wrong, i love rap, but does every song have to have a verse in it. What really ticks me off is when the verse has nothing to do with the initial song. I do indeed love some of the remixes, however other could have seriously gone UNremixed and noone would have complained. All in all, certain remixes make a song better and others just kill it, so i guess that i am actually neutral on the situation.

I like some remixes but that's a hard question. I get tired of hearing some of the lyrics from old songs in new ones. Sometimes it's cool the way they do it other times it's boring. What happened to originality? I like unique and original sounds now because there are so many sound alikes today which I think is sad. Soul is something you feel deep down inside and how can you do that with someone elses songs???????

Some remixes stink, but many can be an alternate look on an idea that's already been used. I love them sometimes, and often the remix is better than the original.

Remixes can be a great way to introduce an old song to a new generation. I love hearing a song on the radio that has been vamped up and one that I loved as a teenager or a child.

Against! On the contrary, a remix has made a song more popular. I've heard some songs that really stunk a place, but add a little bass and speed the voice and you have a killer song.

For.
The lack of inspiration and creativity lead to using good old songs and massacring them into a "popular" mix. It makes me sick, it's like a knife in my ear when I hear any remix.

They're just to make more money off singles and to keep their song on the top charts longer.
