I've never thought very highly of this guy's acting until I watched 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' recently.
Any other performances which come close?

His role in OFOtCN is really not acting. He's just hamming himself up in front of the camera.
He did the same in Batman.
A lot of people make a big to-do over his role in 'Five Easy Pieces', mainly due to the "chicken salad sandwich" scene.
His latest movies are him just hamming it up again.
I think a great actor is someone like Paul Newman, or Robert De Niro; people who can diversify whom they portray; not just create a character who's an extension of your personality.
Jack Nicholson has got to be the most over-rated actor since Marlon Brando, in my opinion.
Some of Marlon's earlier stuff WAS good, but his fame got to his head.

I'm goin with The Shining, man he was evil in the movie! I also really like Something's Gotta Give, he's a little on the crazy side in that movie, too.
