So, have you ever looked at the numbers? Do you realize that the "War on Poverty" has cost us the rough equivalent of the National Debt and yet poverty rates since the 1960s have barely changed? Nope, LBJ was ineffective and foolish. He will rank near the bottom on domestic policy.

Um, the Vietnam war was already going on when Johnson got into office.

if it hadn't been for the republicans he wouldn't have gotten the civil rights passed and the war on poverty was only the longest war(it's still going on) and it will never be finished.
i don't think he was worth a hoot.and he was crude,rude and abusive.

Lyndon Johnson - His foreign policy failed almost as badly as Carter's, and, of course, they used many of the same advisors. He squandered more wealth on foolish programs than any two other presidents. He was no doubt more personally corrupt than Nixon and Clinton combined.
