Very nice. It is not an over-used name like a lot of other girls name. Not likely that there will be 5 other girls in her class when she goes to school with the same name.

I like it too. It is a "sad" name though -- in Shakespeare's Measure for Measure Angelo's slighted lover is named Mariana, and Tennyson wrote a melancholy poem about her. This painting by Maillais is called Mariana:

It comes from the names Mary and Ann, Mary means bitter, and Ann means gracious and merciful. I love the name.
