Intuition is a valuable resource, and when caution is necessary I heed it. However, if someone walks up to me and all of my alarm bells go off, it does not mean that I'll treat that person any differently - it means that I will be careful and watchful.
I walked into a friend of a friends motel room once, and saw a 200 pound dog standing in the middle of the room - a rotty-pit-boxer mix. I walked right up to her, put my hands on both sides of her face and told her what a pretty girl she was. She just looked at me, wagged, and licked my nose. Everyone in the room was stunned, because apparently this was never done to this particular dog. But I knew immediately that she was okay with me.
There have been times, walking down the street in relatively safe neighborhoods, that I have suddenly felt the need to hold tighter to my purse or whatever I was carrying. Without fail, everytime I've felt that, a man has coming running past me and tried to grab it on his way. He failed because I had a firm grip, and he kept going.
So yes, I find intuition a commodity I'd have a hard time living without, but you have to be able recognize its value, and not use it as an excuse to judge people you've just met. Take it as additional input, not the last word on deciding whether someone is worth your time or friendship.

I took the Evelyn Wood personality speed reading course. I can read someone in less than ten seconds. I simply look the person over up to down, left to right, and gloss over the irrelevant details such as buttons, belt loops, jewlry, pimples and warts and focus on the essence of the person. My radar works, but I keep picking up incoming fligthts from the Portland International Airport. Yesterday a low flying 747 almost knocked me off my feet. When I am at the beach, I use my sonar. I can usually tell if a fish or marine mammal is of good character and is being sincere. My sonar tells me to stay away from the clown fish. I can never take them seriously. On a serious note(c sharp), I have an uncanny way of reading moods. I came home last night and all of my belongings were outside strewn about the front lawn. My intuition immediately told me that my wife was mildlly irked at me, and I was right. I can still feel that knot on the top of my head from where the frying pan hit me.

Yes I think I have a good radar and I can sense the feelings and some parts of the personality of the person that I have in front of me. It's something unconscious and it's usually right. I guess all people have that radar, but not all of us can pick up these signals and translate them for our own good. It has to do also with body language and what the other person is ''telling'' you without words, for example with his/hers eyes. It needs practise to sense those signals of your radar...so practise makes perfect. It's good to know whether a person has negative or positive feelings for you, so you can know how to react.

I usually have uncannily good radar. There have even been cases where my "radar" told me one thing but my head was in denial because I wanted to believe entirely something else. More than not, my radar has proven to be right. Signals can be positive or negative, depends on the person.

i really didn't until recently if you learn a few things a bout body language you begin to notice things that people do which betray their thoughts for example when flirting people tend to 'preen' which involves fixing their hair etc while talking to the person if you learn to notice this enough it begins to become second nature i think i am okay at reading people but i need to notice more things fortunately big brother is a perfect opportunity to notice such things try and watch how the housemates behave in conflict, or when two partners are together and if you look their body language should reflect their mood, or in some cases you can tell they are being false by their body language being different from their words other than that they may be very aware of their body language meaning they can lie convincingly through both their words and movements

Yes. Most of the time. There have been several times in my life when I've picked up really negative, "watch out" vibes from someone and I've always been right. Most of the people I meet fall into the neutral zone. Also, there are people I've liked on sight and I've been right about those, too.

I wish I had, but no. I'm too optimistic, I give away a lot of credit to people I've just met. This usually clouds my judgement. But after a while I read them perfectly. Unconsciously, like a sponge, I soak up all the information about this person and process them, rarely making mistakes.

No, I am actually pretty poor at this and don't realize or catch on to things till much later. I have been especially poor about this with women over the years and most have had to spell things out for me. My wife even says today I have trouble taking subtle hints still so she has to be blunt and to the point.

It comes and goes, like ocean waves. Sometimes I can read your mail like crazy, other times I'm just a big dumb goof. Today I'm feeling particularly in tune with the universe. Ordinarily, I would avoid a question like this from a person as bright as you like the plague, knowing you could pick apart my pseudointellectual gas like the hot air that it is.
But today, somehow, I know you like me and what I have to say. NOW GIVE ME MY TEN POINTS!

I have a pretty sensitive radar when it comes to people or even animals. So sensitive, in fact, that sometimes I see things that aren't even there...lol
My gut instinct is usally pretty darn good and I need to listen to that more often.
