The Colorado Rockies moved to New Jersey and became the Devils on June 30, 1982. The Devils won the Stanley Cup in 1995 (4-0 over Detroit), 2000 (4-2 over Dallas), and 2003 (4-3 over Anaheim). They retired Scott Stevens' number 4 in February of this year, and Ken Daneyko's number 3 in March of this year.
