I don't agree with the iraq war at all. I think Bush is a horrible president. But other presidents when terrorism occurred against us just pulled out and ignored it. Messing with terrorists is like stirring up a huge hornets nest. I believe we are in the right in fighting these goons. If they would come out and fight like real men and not hide amongst innocent civilians there would be no danger of hitting the innocent. But they are evil sneaky people who are using religion for their reason for causing these threats. I don't believe in war. But if people are going to act like idiots then I say take them down until their defense is crippled. I don't think these countries are terrorists but are trying to make the world safer for us all. And if war is what it takes then so be it. Talking doesn't do any good to somebody who has their ears covered by a turban.

Part of the crime of terrorism is the intent involved. That's one of the basic elements.

You're looking at thesaurus. Which is great for creative writing, but not so much for definitions. Let alone legal definitions. But let's use the dictionary definition as an example "The systematic use of violence with the intent to intimidate or coerce societies or governments"

The "intent to intimidate or coerce" is important. Just like in most crimes relating to theft (larceny, etc.) there must be the intent to deprive the rightful owner of their property. If you are the rightful owner, it can't be larceny. Even if you just think you are the rightful owner (but you're not), it still can't be larceny. The intent matters.

For terrorism, the intent is to cause terror. To intimidate or coerce. Let's say you were attacking what you thought was a military target during time of war, a weapons bunker about to launch missiles against your homeland. Your intent is not to intimidate, it's to defend your home against an acknowledged enemy in wartime.

Same example, but you mistaken and it was a school, not a weapons bunker. Was your intent to target the school? No. So, still not terrorism, even if it is tragic.

Same example. But instead of targeting a weapons bunk you know it was a school. Now you'd be guilty of terrorism, because your intent is harm civilians for the purpose of causing terror.

The intent makes all the difference. Israel is occupying southern Lebanon to stop Hezbollah from firing rockets into Israel. Nobody else has stepped up to stop Hezbollah, not even the Lebanese government which agreed to do so most of a decade ago. So, Israel has the choice of allowing Hezbollah to attack its citizens with impunity, or to invade where Hezbollah is attacking from to stop them. That's self defense, not terrorism. Especially when Israel is going out of its way not just to warn the civilians to flee, but is willing to pay the cost of their relocation.

The US invasion of Iraq is different. Iraq wasn't launching rockets into the US. In fact Saddam was a former ally. We just didn't like him any more. So, because we didn't like the former government, we invaded Iraq and toppled it. All as part of a mission to intimidate terrorists and coerce surrounding governments that they should change the way they conduct themselves.

Look at the definition of terrorism and determine for yourself how such actions should be categorized.

Terrorists target civilians. Israel/USA/UK do not. Yes, civilians die as a result of actions taken by those armies but when the ones initiating the shooting are doing so hiding behind women and children, or firing rockets from apartment blocks, the what in the bloody name of hell do you expect to happen?

The responsibility for civilian deaths in Lebanon, Iraq and elsewhere are squarely on the shoulders of the terrorists. Israel/US/UK forces go to extreme lengths and put themselves at undo risk to avoid killing civilians. Sometimes, and the more often the better for the terrorists, it is not possible to avoid civilians.

Yes, they all - USA, UK and Israel - deserve to be tried in a war tribunal for their role in the present state of chaos in the middle east, causing undue destruction of valuable resources!

Nothing justifies the murder of civilians in any country under any circumstances.

islam = death cult

moral equivalence does not come close sorry. Muslims kill anyone who does not agree with their religious view of the world. It is the only religion in the world that murders anyone anytime anywhere because they dont go along with the death cult.

You like the other day when that nice muslim guy loaded his car up with bombs and drove to a soccer field to blow up other nice muslim boys playing a game. Yeah good religion you got there.

I did not notice muslims saying death to iraq? Did I miss it?

You all love death. Your virgins are under burkahs and butt ugly since they all been in hell for along time.
