Hours in college are how much credit you get for taking a class. It generally relates to how long a class is; for example a basic math class may meet five times a week for one hour, for an entire quarter/semester. In this example this would be a 5-hour class and would give you 5 credit hours after successfully passing the class.

In the website you included they mention "university regulations limit acceptance of hours from a junior or community college to 66 hours"...this means that if you go to this college after going to a junior or community college you can transfer your credits or hours from that college up to 66 hours/credits.

Hours are just another way of keeping track of the classes you have passed by giving you credit hours for each class you pass.

What determines a credit hour?
Each credit hour is roughly equivalent to one hour of class time per week. For example, a class meeting three hours a week would be a three-credit-hour course.
