I would be polite and cordial and make sure you do your job right.
If she is rude to you or says something mean I would say "I dont appreciate you talking to me like that, I find it unprofessional"
In response to "you should know better than that" - say "im sorry, I dont quite understand _____ can you please give me more information..." (or whatever you need)
You should not be made to feel stupid for asking a question, that is ridiculous!!
If the behavior continues I would make a meeting to sit down and talk with her about your relationship and see if it can be helped. If that doesnt help go to HER supervisor and file a complaint.
If that doesnt work the next step is .....do you REALLY want to work at a place where you arent respected? might be time to find a new job where you are valued!
GOOD LUCK!

This woman obviously enjoys belittling people. Stand up to the bully. If she makes remarks about the questions you ask just tell her you asked because you need to know, there are no dumb questions! If she barks at you ask her if she missed her last dose of Prozac-she'll get the message. Does she have a superior you can talk to? I can't imagine they would tolerate this kind of unprofessional behavior. Above all don't let her damage your self esteem, this is her problem not yours.

i'm sure you aren't the only one that feels this way. she is just trying to rub her ego to make her feel good about herself. due to her poor self esteem. stand up to her, play her game and let her know you are not going to take her crap. think of all the things you would say to her or those quick comebacks that we always think of after the fact and go over them in your head. mentally prepare yourself. find something out about her that is embarrassing or let her think you have. throw that in her face. I know the feeling up feeling all knotted up when going to work and not wanting to be there but you have to stand up for yourself and be strong. get some balls because no one else will do it for you..... once she realizes you are a challenge she may back off. people like to belittle not be the belittled. if that doesn't work put tuna fish water above all the doorways and on the top ledge of the doors. she will go crazy wondering where the smell is coming from and won't focus on you. make sure you point out the smell to her first by asking "do you smell that" even if you don't after you have done the deed.

If despite her rude behavior you treat her kindly, she should become confused as to why. Then quilt should set in and she should change her ways. She just needs that moment of clarity during those couple of minutes when her conscious turns on her and makes her she her evil ways. You don't have to respect her because she doesn't deserve it. Good luck & God Bless You

well if you can you should leave. I have always felt that if you are not happy in your job then leave there are so many jobs out there. If you cant leave I would just put it in my mind that she will not ruin my day. Just remember your manager is that way cuz she is not happy so I would be as happy as you can when you go to work maybe it will rub off on her.
Good Luck, and hang in there.

Keep a low profile and work on a new resume. Do what is expected, and little more. Find a new job ASAP before your bitterness starts showing up in your relations with customers.

because of the fact they're bored and morale is low. this occurs in almost any shop with those factors. If each and every physique that works there has a single flaw, the co-workers could circulate the shrink with it. We had virgins of their 30s, non secular zealots, nymphos, and drunks at my old interest.

When she says you should know better than that, tell her you didn't know but your asking so you can learn and do a better job for her. just trying talking to her and explain how you feel honestly or you could go above her and tell them you feel uncomfortable

stay clam, relaxed and keep your cool for a little while longer.
If this still keeps up, you may want to be looking for a new job. But make sure you are not disrespectful, this would be non-professional.
