Here's what I did to make it simple. I bought colored stickers at an office supply store. I put a value on each sticker color - 50 cents, $1, $2, $3, $5. Then anything else, I just made individual stickers.

I then created a poster showing the color and price associated with it. That cut down a *huge* amount of work pricing things individually.

I also created a 'Free Stuff' pile.

Paperback books I priced all between 25 and 50 cents.

Hope that helps.

Go to an office supply place and get one of those pens to check $20 & $50 and use it. Last time I did a sale (3 yrs ago) had 4 different people try to give me funny money - pen caught it - they got mad when I pulled out the pen - before I even tested it, that was a tip off as well.

If you don't need the cash and could use the tax deduction go see these two sites as to "tax" value of items.

This one is the Salvation Army site

if the link is goofy - it is on the "donate" tab >> receipts >> valuation guide

Your stuff is worth more as a donation than you will get for it at a rummage sale.
Yet I still like rummage sales, fun to meet people - so I go to them, after the funny money, I don't have them

Here's the method - Books - $1 max- down to 25 cents
CDs - 50 cents to $2 max
Clothes - unless they are, like, really fine, worn once - clothes are $1 to $3 each

Stereos, caqmeras, blenders - whatever youthink you can get - BUT - and here's the fun part!

At 10 a.m., the price of everything goes to 25 cents, and for every item you buy, I get to give you one for free. This helps you get rid of the crap no one wants.

At 11:00 a.m., the buyer gets EVERYTHING thats left for $1 - just $1, not $1 each, but they HAVE TO take it all.

All of your good stuff will be sold by 9:30, and the rest is just getting the stuff hauled away. It's fun - try it.

in case you positioned just about all of product contained in the back then human beings will nevertheless have more than a number of room to peruse. in case you positioned some plum products out the front that is going to entice human beings and also you've someone direct them to the back. As products out the front promote you may replace them with different products.
