i was talking to my friends the other day and we got into this conversation over which gender is stronger. we thought that women were stronger because we go through all these phisically painfull moments in our lives that men dont go through. what do you think

Mentally - women are MUCH stronger..and we have a higher threshold for pain - that's a proven medical fact...

I think men are stronger physically because that's the way their built. They weren't built to have children. Women, on the other hand I believe are much stronger emotionally as they tend to let their feelings out more than men. They are also smarter than men are.

Physical strength and speed goes to the men.
Resistance to disease - women..
Tolerance for cold - women.
Language acquisition - women.
Face recognition - women.
3D mental imagery - men.
Metabolic efficiency - women.
It's all statistical of course. There are a lot of interesting differences and similarities. Each seems to be built to meet the situtations they are confronted with (as products of evolution you would expect this).
If men have always hogged the best furs and stayed closest to the fire, you would expect women to have evolved a higher tolerance for cold. Not that I am admitting to anything on my forefathers' behalf.

Women. Most would say men, but muscle has nothing to do with strength. I think those that have INNER strength are the strongest of all. That would be strength of mind & spirit. Women have to endure a lot of physical pain from menstruation, childbirth & things like waxing, which men would never be able to handle.
I went with my ex-boyfriend to get his ear pierced, and he squeezed my hand so hard from that little second of pain, that I fell to the floor.

I think it's hogwash to say one sex is stronger than the other...we as females don't live in a male body (& vice versa)...so how can we really know the other's struggles & life issues. I believe we should look at the person (male or female) & appreciate all of the strengths & weaknesses.

In terms of muscle mass, men tend to be physically stronger. I do think, however, that women are emotionally stronger.

I personally believe that if men had the babies instead of women, the human race would die out.
There is no way they could handle the other aspects of being a fertile child bearer such as menstruation and menopause.
