find things for them to do... eg. treasure/scavenger hunts in the garden, painting, get a sand pit for them to play in, go to a park for a picnic, encourage them to play outdoors with toys like skipping ropes etc... the more you keep them occupied the less chance they have of getting bored and driving you mad

Hi Jo B...........How old are the kids? If they're under 6, the library is a great place for kids to spend some time reading and exploring. The multitude of books and events are a great way for kids to spend some time. If you're kids are a bit older why not find a destination on a local map somewhere. Once the destination has been chosen, the kids could then be challenged to think of ways to get there. (bus, car, subway) Together you could decide on the best method. Oh and one rule,,,,,mom's car is off limits! Have fun, this will comsume their minds for a while.

Have alot of new coloring books and fun projects set aside for these holidays. These kept my kids busy for hours. If you have alot of toys like my kids did, take some and put them in a bag and put away. Take them out when the holidays come around and they would like to see the toys they've been missing.

Vodka and cranberry should quite them down for a little bit. LOL j/k try having them involved in a sport that requires a lot of pracitce time so it keeps them tired.

I feel for you! Believe it or not, these times will pass. Then you are like me, older and your kids are grown and you forget how crazy they made you! ( Until your grandkids come over, but you can give them back)

Remember to TRY to keep this time in perspective!

Do stuff with them, this doesnt mean spending money. Go to the park, make up games. The kind of stuff you used to like doing when you were their age!
