People need to realize that this country was built on the strength of immigrants. The first colonists were "immigrants," per se, because they traveled from Europe. America was able to develop so quickly because of the work of the Chinese building railroads in the West and European immigrants working in the factories through the Industrial Age. Today, immigrants do all the jobs that Americans don't want to do. Everyone complains about immigrants stealing jobs, but there they're missing two things. First, immigrants are the ones doing your landscaping, working at minimum wage, doing all the work that Americans wouldn't be satisfied with doing their entire lives. Secondly, active competition drives the economy. By taking these jobs, immigrants drive Americans to strive for better things. If people were all satisfied with minimum wage jobs, then the economy would stagnate. Because these jobs are no longer available, people are forced to make themselves more attractive to employers, thus bettering themselves and the economy.

I'm actually planning on moving in the US in a few years, But by the time i'll have a MBA and 2 to 3 years of experience. I think i'm worth it for the US cause i can give to the country a lot of things. And i also believe that we need sometimes to help ppl from 1/3 world country, otherwise they could get killed easily in their country;

Everyone wants to live a better life.The immigrants ,according to me are hardworking and work for their bread. They spent their adulthood in the country ,toil their life .They are paid for what they do and no other extra income. Immigrants or not, they are humans. Govt and home offices are already messed up and never due to immigrants only! When you see immigrants as ur fellow neighbour, ur wont think of them ,they way u think now!

Immigration is fine as long as it is done within the laws of the land. Ilegal imigration is a whole different matter. We are all immigrants or decendents.of such and yes we came to America for a chance to have better lives, but it was done legally because we wanted to learn english and become citizens of this great country. We should not have to teach children in their native language but they and their parents should strive to learn ours as quickly as possible. BH

I have no problem with someone who wants to come to the U.S. and make a better life for themselves. Aside from Native Americans, we are a nation of immigrants. The problem for me is when they illegally enter the country or stay past their visa's expiration without getting it renewed or becoming a citizen. If we went to other countries and tried that, I seriously doubt if they would be as lenient as we are.

If we don't have immigrants - we don't have kebab and chips at 1am in the morning - if we don't have immigrants we don't have little paki-corner shops open 24 hours. If we don't have immigrants - we don't have the indian, turkish, chinese takeaway shop - as you may have realised - I am interested in my stomach !
