The answer here does not only rely on economic growth but on political issues too. China is obvioulsy growing at a very fast pace and so at face value, it seems likely that they would overtake the usa. Economic growth however is not the most important reason as to why China might overtae the usa. The problem with the usa is that its too capitalist. Whether anyone likes to admit it or not, the usa relies heavily on trade with China. For instance, what would happen to the us economy if China banned Coca-Cola within its borders? Do you kow what it means to have 1 billion people drinking coke? thats just one example of many. China's weapon is its population. Secondly, China could defeat the usa due to the usa's foreign policies. We see a huge difference betwee the foreign policies of the usa and that of china. the usa tends to have a more hands-on approach to all regions around the globe, hence security fears which influence faith in the market. china does not tend to get invloved in tensions around the globe but rather develops at its own pace ina a sort of isolated way, more safe and less of a threat to others. As for the EU, i see the Union as just beginning. It has major potential with the huge market it now has at its disposal and the policies of the eu tend to be less aggressive than those of the usa. I see a future with China and the EU being the new superpowers and the usa falling to the position that Russia is in now. After all, empires can only last for about 250 years.

No. Chinese economic growth will only benefit the USA and the EU. Chinese economic growth will spur Chinese innovation which can be exported abroad leading to new technologies and products that are valuable to the consumer. Chinese growth will be driven by the production of low cost goods which will benefit the consumers in the USA and EU. Chinese economic growth will expand trade and social ties between states which increases the costs of military confortation, and thus reduces its probability.
There will be pockets of dislocations and transition costs. Whenever a more efficient Chinese factory puts a US or EU factory out of business, those displaced workers must train to be competent in new jobs. While there are disadvantaged persons with any change, the advantages far out weigh them, such that governments should be able to provide transition benefits in the form of education credits and temporary unemployment benefits.
Chinese economic growth could also fuel a large southeast asian arms race. However, as economic growth climbs the Chinese will be confronted with the high costs of confrontation and the minimal benefits, such that a large scale war is unlikely.

Over a billion Chinese say yes.
Thier need for oil is growing daily. More and more Chinese are losing the bike and buying the car. This increases the need greatly. Also, China is starting to expand its infrastructure. This will expand thier need for oil. It will also increase thier need for materials, which will increase thier exports and job making capabilities. Thier already a huge force in the marketplace; can you image them getting stronger. They will.
The Chinese are also beginning to compete with the US and Europe for oil contracts and importation. This is going to cause price fluctuations and bidding wars. This will not help the US or Europe. They've monopolized the market for years. Now one the largest market, left out in the past, is ready to catch up and be in there for the long haul.
Lets not forget thier nuclear capabilities. They have a huge system for creating nuclear power and weapons. They outclass all of us that department. While Russia, Europe, and the US have decreased supplies and haven't built a nuclear power plant in over 20 years, the Chinese are rolling.
Can they defeat us? I think they might already be there we just haven't noticed. We make wake up one day and no longer be the superpower in the marketplace.

raising a million plus guy military in China would not itself pose a probability to the USA of a because that's particularly confusing for China to target to land all those infantrymen on US soil. China is totally attentive to our nuclear purposes, which particularly a lot regulations out any standard warfare with us, and they recognize it. Why do they prefer any such huge military? for an similar the clarification why we've one too---we adore projecting our skill in the approach the international in places the position there is in straightforward words minimum or non-existent defenses. China has self protection themes and pastimes to guard in different places too, like per chance in Africa, the position they now have a growing presence. Can China defeat us of a if it needed to? no longer anytime quickly. they have a large type of catching up in military technologies with the intention to surpass our own purposes. besides the undeniable fact that it truly is stupid to believe that they couldn't ever be in a position to. Given their explosive economic and technological boost, that is an particularly actual probability. the suited answer on a thanks to handle that actuality is a million) endured maintaince of our military technologies, and a pair of) fending off taking away China's economic disincentive to imagine about conquest. that is why selection of presidental or vice-president applicants is of maximum significance. the finest ingredient we want in place of work is someone that believes that us of a is on a mission from God to deliver armies to the different usa that is no longer as Christian as they should be. Trout decrease than has a reliable element, and should be suggested for his answer.

Economic growth is not a war. Economic growth in one country is beneficial to all countries, because it creates demand for imports, which other countries can supply.
