look at ronald and nancy reagan. they survived everything. kids, mistrust, public life, politics, scandal, everything that life threw at them. and they both handled it with dignity.

george burns and gracie allen. he loved her all his life. when she died, he never found anyone enough like her to marry again.

richard burton and liz taylor. they loved each other even after they knew that they couldnt make it as a couple. even through other partners, they still had something there.

spencer tracey and katherine hepburn. she carried it well. he never married her, but he did spend the rest of his life with her when it was such a scandal that it almost took both their careers. she took care of him when he was sick. and she did it with style, dignity, and never had an apology for it.

sam elliott and katherine ross..

my grandparents. they were together no matter what for over 60 years. never dreaming of being with anybody else.

my aunt and uncle. they were together 58 years before she died. and i will say that he was never the same without her. he was so ready to die just to be with her again that he didnt last long without her.

My husband and I! We are constantly told that we are the greatest couple ever. When I see him, my smile just gets so big. It is like I am looking at him for the first time. I love him so much!

Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. The greatest class act in any couple, in any timeline!! Also great actors! They just truly look great together, just watch one of their movies, youll see. Second on my list would be Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, thats true love there.

straight up, it is "Adam & Eve", first couple on earth, they screwed up royally when they had it all, but when it came down to it when they had to make it without anything, they stayed together, through going through having "everything" to having "nothing" They found a way to manage life, to eat, farm, drink, have babies, and make their life in the midst of the worst crisis ever, Out in a new world, without a car, electricity, gas, plumbing, etcc.. and lived a very fulfilling life till death do they part.

I would have to say, any couple that can stand living together, breathing together and being together through the good and bad times is considered great in my book.

I immediately thought of Liz Taylor and Richard Burton (actors). They threw away everything to be together; they fought, loved and couldn't stay away from each other. He died and she never got over it. Tragic, don't you think?
