After reading the following article in USA Today, it seems very clear that Al Gore is just talking the talk...

(excerpt):
Public records reveal that as Gore lectures Americans on excessive consumption, he and his wife Tipper live in two properties: a 10,000-square-foot, 20-room, eight-bathroom home in Nashville, and a 4,000-square-foot home in Arlington, Va. (He also has a third home in Carthage, Tenn.) For someone rallying the planet to pursue a path of extreme personal sacrifice, Gore requires little from himself.

Then there is the troubling matter of his energy use. In the Washington, D.C., area, utility companies offer wind energy as an alternative to traditional energy. In Nashville, similar programs exist. Utility customers must simply pay a few extra pennies per kilowatt hour, and they can continue living their carbon-neutral lifestyles knowing that they are supporting wind energy. Plenty of businesses and institutions have signed up. Even the Bush administration is using green energy for some federal office buildings, as are thousands of area residents.

But according to public records, there is no evidence that Gore has signed up to use green energy in either of his large residences. When contacted Wednesday, Gore's office confirmed as much but said the Gores were looking into making the switch at both homes. Talk about inconvenient truths.

I just read that and he says pretty much do as i say but not as i do. Further proving the LACK of existence of global warming.

And The highest temperature recorded anywhere on Earth was in Aziziyah, Libya, in September of 1922 -136 degrees. Are we anywhere near that? I didn’t think so.

The highest temperature recorded in the United States was in Death Valley, Californina, in July of 1913 – 134 degrees Fahrenheit. Are we anywhere near ? I didn’t think so.

Loooong before "man made global warming"

This is a a tactic of holding someone to an impossible standard to then call them a hypocrite, and then discredit everything they say. Because Gore could have reduced his personal energy consumption a bit this means 1. he'd be a bad president, 2. global warming is not happening 3. he's just a bad person. Sounds absurd, but this is the point of your argument, and many people will buy it.

According to the article, there is evidence that Gore is hypocritical in the context that what he practices is not what he preaches. The same can be said for most politicians. The biggest hypocrite? George W. Bush. As one example, he wants to protect embryos from federal funding, while spending billions on the slaughter of innocent Iraqis. Bush's hypocrisy is a lot more pernicious than Gore's.

Glad that you mentioned wind power, which is advocated and being actively invested in by some of the nasty "big corporations" in the U.S A., like General Electric and Florida Power and Light; also by the "rich people who don't care", like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates, and the current administration.

Now, who's against it? Democrat Senator Ted Chappaquiddick Kennedy does't want those ugly wind turbines in HIS back yard.

Personally, I feel sorry for Al Gore. In my opinion he honestly felt he "had it coming" -- the presidency. Affluent background, raised in a political environment, vice president ... he's just a tad spoiled and thinks it should be his. I think he still feels that the 2000 election was stolen from him even through independent investigations verified that although the vote was extremely close, Pres. Bush did win.
