Islamic terroists bent on wanting to kill plane loads of people and certain assbutt whingers who cannot see further than their lipstick and newspaper or other frivolous object whinge because they can't take a bag with them onboard.
Don't they see the seriousness in this? If a flight was blown out of the sky who'd be the first to whine about lack of security? You guessed it the same people who knock them now!

If the airlines could guarantee that they wouldn't lose your luggage... if they could guarantee that Homeland-certified workers wouldn't pilfer your iPod, laptop, cellphone etc. from checked luggage... If the Homeland storm troopers didn't make it mandatory that you leave your luggage unlocked to make it easy for employees to steal from it...

There's a reason why people carry luggage on board. At the very least, they should have a "valet" service like on small commuter flights, where you put your carry-on item on a cart as you board, and it's waiting when you get off.

If it becomes so difficult to travel that people don't want to travel, then it's the airline and tourist industries that suffer. Those are big businesses, as well as the Hotel industry, Boeing and other manufacturers, etc.

When it comes down to the fact there may be liquid explosion in that bottle of so called "water" that someone may bring on the plane, then I am all for banning all and everything that could be carried on board. I think I would have a hard time parting with my paperback book especially on a long flight, but hey, I would like to think that I will be alive once the trip is over and THEN I can read my book.

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with this new regulation..what did they deem as unessential? I'm assuming that a solitary piece of hand luggage is okay....but I've seen what people bring on flights with them and I've always wondered if that's what they've got with them, what kind of stuff do they have in their checked in bags?

I'm all for anything that makes the skies safer for all of us...I'll draw the line at strip searches though!

I suppose it depends on whose hand luggage it is and what is considered essential by that individual! My husband requires insulin pump supplies (which include syringes and insertion sets) and I require additional medication including aerosal propelled inhalants. As of this morning, neither of us can take these aboard the plane when we depart NY for London in October. Neither can I take my cell phone, my husbands business pager, a cd player which I use for language cd's or any other small appliance. The Airline also advise me to have my husband leave his laptop business computer at home as well.

My husband works across the street from Ground Zero in lower Manhattan. Bldg. #7 of the WTC fell across and crushed our car. My husband suffered a heart attack subsequent to his evacuation from his office and, of necessity, we were forced, prematurely, to replace the car which we could ill afford to do.
Moreover, my husband, as a result of the foregoing, was out of work for several months while the FBI, Homeland Security and other various NYC agencies used his building as a makeshift headquarters.

Now these terrorist bastards are at it again because they cannot tolerate the fact that we enjoy a certain amount of liberty in this world that their self imposed fanaticism has robbed them of.
Once again my husband & I, as well of the rest of the world, suffer our liberties at the hands of these self-proclamed martyrs.

So, to answer your question, I CARE!! I can no longer feel safe in the sky. I must now cram everything into one suitcase and pray that my valuables, medicines, small electronics AND my clothing arrives safely at my destination.

Its not a matter of lipstick and pop bottles in carryons that are objected to but lost liberties taken away by people who don't understand the concept of thinking for themselves! No one more than the victims of terrorism world wide understand about the seriousness of this situation. But to give up your freedom is tantamount to letting them win.

Benjamin Frankin once said "Those who give up their freedom for saftey are neither free nor safe". Franklin understood it. So should we all.

I am extremely happy to see that Women's Handbags are no longer cluttering up the Cabin.
Their handbags are a big nuisance, brushing up against people, constantly being opened and closed, never being able to find what she wants inside, cluttering up the seating space and on and on. Why do women need Handbags? If God wanted them to have such a thing - He would have given them Kangaroo pouches.
