When you want to make a friend what are your top five rules for making friends....

1) Be a good listener....people love to talk about themselves.
2) Show a genuine interest in a person and what they're saying.
3) Don't talk badly about anyone....the "if she does it to others, she'll do it to me" theory will arise.
5) Encourage and support, but don't smother. Even good friends need their space once in awhile.
6) Ask their opinions on things...people feel needed and & appreciated when asked their opinion.
7) Take the time to notice your potential friend's likes & dislikes...if you go out to eat and you notice that she doesn't order tomatoes on her hamburger, it's a pretty safe bet that she doesn't like them on her salads either. Remember that if you have her over for a meal.
