Pirates of the Carribbean? He really wants to see it, all the stores have these toys geared for his age group, and the commercials and what not, we have not seen it yet, because I'm not sure it's appropriate for his age....please, someone who has seen it, let me know what you think.

Well he is right on the line of whether he should see it or not. If the first one didnt bother him (he needs to see the first one to understand the characters) then its ok for him to see it.

I took my 9 year old brother and his 8 year old friend. They loved it. Its really up to you. The main reason he shouldnt see it, is because of this guy.

If you found the first Pirates appropriate for him, this is more of the same. A monster comes out of the water to attack a ship ... people morph into skeletons ... sword fights .. Most of the dialog will be over his head. But the real problem, as I see it, is that the movie is THREE hours long. I don't think there is enough to keep a 6 yo entertained that long. You know his fear and attention levels better than anyone.

well, that's a hard question. I think I saw it when I was 7 and I liked it. It definately has some violence in it ( e.g. people getting shot by guns and cannons, people getting stabbed with axes and swords.) but there's not any blood in it at all. then theres the scary factor to consider. there are some pretty gruesome skeletons in that movie, but it was a really good action thriller. wait, crap. are you talking about the first or second movie. I just told you about the first one. the second one is a whole different story.

The second one is a little more gruesome and bloody ( guy getting his eyes pecked out by crows) and I think it's scarier. becuase of davy jones' crew and whatnot. there are cannibals in that movie. I didn't see the first minute of the movie becuase of a stupid movie theater, but it didn't SOUND that violent gruesome or bloody. I say you should see it first and then decide if he is old/mature enough and maybe wait till it comes out on DVD. hope I could help

As a parent you know your child better than anyone else. You should go to see the film before you allow your child to see it. If, after watching the film, you deem it appropriate for him, then you can take him to see it. Not all 6 year olds are equal. Those with older brothers or close cousins are probably ready for a lot more than those who are the oldest in their family because the younger brothers have been exposed to a lot more by their sibling. These are circumstances that no one can know, but you.

It's a very good movie. I took my eight-year-old to see it. There are sea monsters and the dead crew could be scary for some childern. For my child this kind of stuff doesn't scare him. He knows it is actors and not possible to happen in real life.

The movies he can't watch are things like scary movie 3. It is suposed to be funny but it scared him. (he watched it with his Dad.) I had to deal with it in the middle of the night when he woke up worried some guy in a mask was going to get him.

Pirates of the Carribean is a really good movie. If your really worried about it you could get a sitter, watch the movie and then make your choice if he should watch it. I have to say that I could watch the movie more than once. That says alot for me cuz ususally once I see a movie I am done with it.

Hm mm what is it rated? PG-13 and above and you "should" say no way...or wait until you can rent it, watch it yourself first, and decide about viewing (or what parts to cover his eyes/ears.) He wants to see a "Pirate movie" b/c to him, pirates are like Captain Hook...this might be a little much for him. And, much of the dialog would be completely lost on him.

If the skeletons don't scare him I don't see why not. They have the toys for his age group so it should be ok.If it were something like Jason VS Freddy then I would definitely say no way.

It depends if he gets afraid easy. It could be scary for a young child unless you think they can watch some of the monsters in the movie

I would say yes. My 6 yr old step daughter saw it. In fact I think my younger ones watched it also. Its a really good movie and probably Johnny Depp's best role in a film.

It depends whether monsters give him nightmares. The villain's crew is ugly and disgusting and may scare some children. Other children are used to seeing slasher flicks and would think nothing of it. You know your own son best.
