neither, all it is, is the sound of synovial fluid flowing back into the joint giving you the feeling of the joint being temporarily looser... no real health benefits though.

If you go on cracking, you'll be likely to suffer from osteo-arthritis of your knuckles in future. Don't crack any of your joints as far as possible. You'll regret later coz arthritis is not an illness that can reverse.

Someone told me that its sort of like, cracking your bones and that when you grow old, it will be harder to bend your joints, but I don't know if its true. But a friend of mine who is majoring in medicine said that it isn't good.

I've cracked mine ever since I was little. Now they hurt, and are sore. I've been told it leads to arthritis, and from what I feel...they are right!!!
