Yes, in fact one of my friends got married on the Thunderbolt! :-)

Thanks for reminding me of the memories.

Kennywood is a nice less intense amusement park. They have some very good old rides that were built when physical engineering carried the day rather than modern electronic and computers. There are a lot of trees and green space. Thunderbolt, Jack Rabbit, Racer and Phantom's Revenge are all good coasters. Racer is built on a single track although its a racing coaster. So you end your ride in the other station.

If you will stay overnight, look online for hotel/park deals. We were able to get a room and two adults tickets and had to pay $10/ticket for our kids. Also, driving in PA yesterday, I noticed billboards talking about Idlewood and Kennywood so you may be able to get a package deal for both parks (and a third attraction mentioned on those signs that I cannot remember now).

I go to Kennywood every year because I am near by. They have some fun roller coasters, lots of old ones. Water rides are Okay. kiddy land is pretty small but there are some pretty views on the rides and lots of different places to eat.

Yes, it's a good "old time" park.

Make sure to ride the Thunderbolt. It's a really cool, old, wooden coaster.
