You can purchase a galvanized steel bucket at Lowes Hardware for about $6 - use pretty shredded paper to pad it and drop in a nice sparkling wine, usually about $12. Add a nice candle, 2 bars of nice chocolate, and a gift card from the local movie store. Wrap it in clear cellophane and tie at top with pretty curling ribbon - you've got a great gift for under $50.
Alternatively - buy the larger oval galvanized steel tub (about $13) and add a six pack of their favorite beer or soft drink in bottles (just cause they look nicer packaged up), a box of good microwave popcorn, movie type candy snacks and again the gift card from the movie rental place.

Give him your unconditional love and support. Be nice to his new wife but keep your dads interests first in your thoughts. HE IS YOUR DAD. Remember trust is earned not given away. Treat her kindly but watch for negatives and if they occur be gentle when bringing them to your dads attentionYour dad is probably trying to get on with his life. As we get older we need less stress because it effects us more with age. As for gifts. Love is first, then maybe he would like a large photo of you framed and hung in a place where he can see it every day. Include a nice handmade card telling him how much you love him and you support his decisiions

Your verbal blessings accompanied by a hug would probably mean alot to him. For the both of them, perhaps a gift certificate for thier favorite dinner spot.

I think I would make it simple.. assuming that you are his child and not that old.. I think I would probably get him an electric tool of some sort for his garage(assuming he likes to tinker with tools) and if he is into sports, get him two tickets to a game or something (one for he and his new wife)

I would ask him what he wants.
If you have enought send him on a trip.
But if you are looking for something small give him something that he and his new wife can share and use together like dishes?

Why don't you ask him what he'd like?

On the other hand, if you know of something that they may need (gee, that coffeemaker has been on the fritz for a while...), go ahead and get that!
