Is there bleeding with these cramps? a lot of women's bodies react differently to pregnancy. I'm 8 weeks as well and I know I was getting some cramps but they weren't that bad, and if I did get them it was gas or that I had to go to the bathroom. So your gas cramps or bathroom cramp might be intensifying like mine are. I hope everything is alright, and if you really need help ask your doctor or obgyn, they will give you better answers then anyone on here would be able to.

I am assuming you mean gas when you say painful wind? Gas is normal in pregnancy and light cramps around the time your period would have been due is ok. However, painful cramps can be a sign of miscarriage. I would see your doctor asap to confirm your pregnancy is ok.

The advice is inconsistent but generally seems to say that if the main is intermittent - i.e. not constant - and if when you lay down and relax the pain goes away - then you should be ok.
However, it's best to make sure - do go to the doctor.
