Yea its mostly all crap. I love how people who are "rockers" say
"you mean rap" like their music doesn't suck. New rock music sucks just as bad as new rap.
I have not at all been impressed for almost 7 years now. The thing is....entertainment companies know that it is mostly 13-17 year olds purchasing albums and concert tickets. So until they stop listening to crap music we will stop getting crap music.

I agree with you. I prefer to listen to older music because I think more thought and feeling was put into the music. Yes times change and so does music but just because times change it is no excuse for the "so-called" music of today. It is not very talented in my opinion. Just goes to show you that ANYONE can make an album but it takes a TRUE artist to create GOOD music.

Ok, I have a real answer for you. Yes and No. First off, stop looking to the radio to find what you are looking for, because you wont. The pure volume of music is much higher now days than it used to be. You have to sift through a lot of crap, but the quality is still there. Its evolution... everything gets better and stronger (humans breaking records, technology) so why would music be different??? Try bands like Tool if you like Pink Floyd. Try RHCP if you like Zeppelin. Try Pearl Jam if you liked the Who.

Perhaps others do. I like all kinds of music, although I prefer the older stuff, I still like the new also. It is a matter of preference, everyone has the right to what they like, but I like music from yesterday better than today.

I agree. Popular music today is filled with pop and rap. And I'm not talking about any kind of good rap. I remember back in the day when rap actually was cool.

Music these days is just the worst, IMO.
Occasionally you will get some good glimpses of good music, but it is few and far between.
Video DID kill the radio star AND a lot of good music. Now it is all about trashy half-naked performers who are using recycled mixes.

Music is an interesting thing, it is so interpretive to the listener. I have to agree though, music is not what it use to be. Where is the harmony? Where is the dymanics? And RAP? That is NOT music at all - I would personally, and this is just a strong opinion of mine, outlaw RAP.

I agree with you. The only newer music that I really listen to is Filter and the new group Army of Anyone. You should check them out.

Music today is horrible. I miss the 90's and 70's. We can just pretend that the 80's never happened....
