I have too say if i was held up today because someone was threatening to blow me up on a plane, I would probably have gone home! Not worth a £450 holiday for my life!
But we have people moaning that they should be allowed to take there hand luggage for what ever reason...
Oh the Authorities have got it hard... i feel for them... and a good job they are doing, and the airport staff too!
Shallow people should be ashamed of themselves!

Your so right the airport people are doing what they have to do for all our safety, some people are just so darn selfish and they should stop and think about how they too are putting others life's at risk with their thoughtless attitudes, I wouldn't care if I had to go and wait in a queue for 3 days and have half of what I had taken as luggage or hand luggage off me, you know other countries you visit do sell toiletries and medicines and what ever most people think they have to take with them and who wants there mobile on holiday with them hey, your supposed to be relaxing not talking to the world and his wife, we did without mobile phones on holiday before they were invented didn't we.

People are selfish. I see them trying to cram as much bloated luggage as they think they can get away with into the overhead racks, so as not to have to go get it later from baggage check. They stand there forever, pushing and shoving and smashing and crushing, while people are trying to find their seats and board the damn plane. And it is not just a few, either.
There once was a method of determining whether one could carry on a piece of luggage that an airline used - it was a metal rack that stood near the check-in areas, and if your bag did not fit into it, you had to check it. But they gave that up for some reason. They should bring it back.
And of course they don't think about the next guy, who might be someone bent on blowing them up - they are not terrorists, so they should not be questioned. Like everybody knows they are not terrorists.

I am going on holiday soon and now the thought of getting on a plane fills me with dread. I think if not being allowed to take hand luggage on board the plane stops this threat then i am all for it.

Well, in essence, many people feel that they should go on with their life and not let terrorist activity deter from that.. Again.. if I was in charge, I would kick people off if they criticized the luggage business.. and I would not have random checking of luggage but search EVERY piece going into the airplane.

if people just "bent over " and allow these so called "terrorists to spoil you day/holiday/life what would we gain...we have to stand together and support the authorities and make sure that the scum are not allowed to prevail!

My Mum went to Ireland today, her flight from Heathrow was delayed by 5 hours, Shes in Dublin now and Ive just spoken to her and shes doing her nut over the inconvenience............... enough said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
