According to the cosmetic, toiletry and fragrance association, there are no guano or feces based ingredients used in any cosmetics. There has been a lot of discussion over the past few years concerning the use of bat feces as an ingredient in mascara.

No it is not there is a common mix up between the Spanish term guano meaning dung and guanine . these two things are completely different .guanine is actually a component made of fish scales so ur mascara is probably made of fish scales not bat poop this is a common mistake.

No legitimate Cosmetic company would even dream of using feces as an ingredient in their products, they'd loose their license and profits not to mention the legal action taken against them.

To date the only recipe I have that comes close, is a Historic beauty treatment from Japan that called for bush-warbler droppings. And these were especially reared, feed for the purpose and whether it worked or works, I for one am not going to even contemplate replicating!

This "rumor" is valid. My dad once visited Blanchard caverns in Arkansas. Now this was in the 70s, so may no longer hold merit, but he said the tour guide told them that cosmetic companies were buying the guano and it was a major source of income for the state park! (Maybelline' s manufacturing plant is in Little Rock...just saying).
