Not sure.... If EVERYTHING is meant to happen for a reason, then who decided there should be so much pain, suffering and evil doing in the world?
They've got some explaining to do.

Destiny. Granted there are instances in one's life of what you can term 'luck". Something things just happen or happen to come your way because of it. Other events happen because you've performed a series of smaller events that eventually may lead up to the main event.
Now these smaller happenings that occurred through your own design may not seem connected at times but I believe that careful analysis of them will lead directly to the culmination of the final outcome.
For instance...doing stupid stuff like not setting the parking brake on your car because you're too busy yakking on the cell phone were factors in your car rolling down the hill later and going into someones living room.
Winning the lottery is pure luck. The only way you had any control over that event is by the purchase of the lottery ticket.
Has this made sense to you?
In most cases you are masters of your own destiny.

Yes I believe in both luck and destiny. If I hadn't of decided to go to England when I did I wouldn't have gotten pregnant and be ready to give birth now. And I have the luck from this child because I was told I'd probably never have children of my own.

I actually believe they are one and the same. I don't believe in "accidents"; there is a reason behind everything. We just may not be in the position to fully recognize or even see that all the time. Its easier for me to believe in a cosmic purpose behind everything rather than accept the possibility that the universe is governed by an indiscriminate randomness. I guess my former military background with its logical applications influences my belief system's compass.
