All religions have done something bad. For Example the Catholics have had the Crusades. In fact Lutherans and Catholics have gone in and killed alot of Anabapists (forerunner of the present day Minonites) in the German town of Munsters. There was a large civil war in Germany over Catholics and Lutherans. Also there was another war in Germanny called the 30 years war that killed 1/3 of the German population that was foughts between Catholics and against Protestants, but to some extent has somethings to do with religion and at other times nothing. Though the beginning of the 30 years War was definitely about religion. Present day there are the wack jobs that blow up abortion clincs. Christians are just as guilt of destroying things to some extent as Muslims.

What little have we forgotten about the Indians (Hindus) who fought with the Pakistanis (Muslims). Remember they almost went to Civil war a couple of times because its used to be one country. Gandhi saved them from fighting.

There might be examples of Buddhists but I can't think of any. I know though buddhist monks have set themselves on fire once in protest to the Chinesse occupation of Tibet.

Islam, like Christianity, Buddhism and every other religion to date, hasn't blown up, shot or otherwise damaged anything.

It's people who do these things, and in the case of your question it's terribly angry people who have decided to resort to violence to settle whatever issues they have with the world. Religion isn't the driving force; anger is. None of these people tell others that their God (or Allah, or Buddha, Kali, Krishna, etc.) told them to go forth and blow themselves up. They're always railing against what they see as the injustices heaped upon them.

You don't like your life? Work hard and change it. It's not easy, not by a long shot, but it's the only real way to change things for the better. Anything else is taking the easy way out - yes, the easy way - because you're just going through the motions but unwilling to accept or to face whatever the outcome of your actions may be.

So let's try to avoid blaming Islam for this. It's just a bunch of cowardly whiners who really don't have the stones to do what society expects of them.

No, I don't think Islam is a religion of peace. From the beginning, back to when Mohammed was growing in power, it was a political group that used force and violence to accomplish its purposes. The Koran is full of anger and endorses violence for Islam's purposes. Many Muslims today ignore the parts they don't like. They aren't practicing "true Islam". They are being deceived, just as are those who are faithfully following Mohammed and his teachings. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. "Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through Jesus Christ." Romans 5.1. I pray that Muslims will be set free.

I believe thiers is a religion of peace as much as I believe Christianity is a religion of peace. Look at Northern Ireland for an example there. All religions have fundies and radicals that will resort to any method to further their agenda.
