Something similar as that happened to me. I ended up miscarrying because I didn't think I was pregnant and wasn't taking the proper precautions.

I have heard of women being pregnant but still having their monthly cycle. It's never happened to me, though.
I did, however, get pregnant while thinking that I wasn't. I was late on my cycle and I swore it was just stress. My girlfriend kept telling me, "aww, your pregnant, your pregnant" and I kept telling her, "No, I'm not, it's just stress" I really thought it was stress, b/c I already had two boys, and my youngest at that time was 8 months old, so I really didn't expect to be pregnant again. After about a month of waiting for my cycle, I took pregnancy tests (4) and they all came out negative...so I thought, no I'm definately not pregnant, but then when I started throwing up every single morning, that's when I really knew I was pregnant. So, I took another pregnancy test, and it still came out negative, but no cycle and still throwing up every morning. So, finally, I went to a clinic and took a blood test, and that one came out positive. And so, I ended up having a little girl - so I have now two boys and a girl...it couldn't have been more perfect, even though it was unplanned.

my friend fainted at work and went to the hospital, where they gave a blood pregnancy test, and it was negative, but a week later she still was late, so she took a hpt and was positive! Also when I was with my neice in the ER we sat next to a lady who was 8 MONTHS alsong before she found out she was carrying a child. apparently none of the doctors she was complaing of "stomach problems" though to check for pregnancy, and thought she was a hypochondriac. She said she had a period every month the whole time. She was a bigger lady, so no one noticed additional weight gain either. This was one of the Weirdest stories, but I guess it goes to show it's possible.

We tried for 5 years to have our first baby. So, yes, there were a lot of times I thought I was, only to find out later that I wasn't. I hated the disappointments. But it turned out okay. We now have 3.

Someone I used to work with went to the hospital suddenly because she was having pains, and they thought it was her appendix. She was told when she was younger that she couldn't have kids, but low and behold, on that visit she found out she was pregnant, and it wasn't her appendix at all!
