What is the point in this color coding? Does anyone buy more duct tape? Does anybody watch more carefully in their neighborhood?

The end result of these "terror alerts" is to let the "terrorists" know when is the best time to attack, and to scare the people enough to blindly follow their war(mongering) President.

Threat levels raised at airports this morning and I have to drive to airport this evening to pick up friend. So I plan for delays.
I often ride in bus over Port of Seattle..via West Seattle Freeway and speculate about how choatic things would get if there was an incident down there.
I live about 100 feet from Burlington Northern Railroad tracks leading into port of Seattle.
Duct tape wouldn't help.
Duct tape good for lots of other things though.

Yes, I pay more attention to security issues not only in my neighborhood, but at work also. I watch for things that are out of the ordinary. If someone is acting suspiciously, I will actually hang around and watch for a while to make sure he's not up to something. I look for packages / containers left where they shouldn't be,

If you are willing to have just this one dog for its whole life then sure. But if you plan to have a multidog household, I would advise against it. Dogs that have dog aggression, 9 times out of 10 are just genetically predisposed. And some dogs that appear dog aggressive ARENT. And just havent' had proper socialization. There is a chance that this dog will NEVER be able to be around other dogs. And you will have to manage that in public. If you plan on adding more dogs to your family, you better sure as heck have a handle on the situation and be willing to crate and rotate. I would advise, if you shelter will let you, bring your own Behaviorist and have them evaluate before adopting. That might give you a better idea whats up with this dog. If you do get this dog, I suggest working with a behaviorist until you get a handle on things. If you already have dogs, I'd pass on this one ADD: In response to your additional details. My breed of choice is the APBT and they are known for their dog on dog aggression. I know not a boxer, but any dog can be DA. I have many a friend that has DA dogs. And they have learned to manage and they are able to take them out in public without a muzzle. The idea though is you have to train them to ignore other dogs and it can be a demanding task. And another key is to try to walk them during times of the day when other dogs might not be out, or there won't be so many out. If you do decide to go with this dog or still considering it, please message me. I can give you some helpful links and I know of a great forum that you could try that has some very knowledgable people on the subject of dog aggression. Good luck

None what so ever.
Just take into account that there has never been nor will ever be 100% security anywhere.
1000000 meteors enter the Earths atmosphere every day. Some of them burn up while others fall where they may. Really, drunk driving kills more people PER YEAR than died on 9-11. 60,000 to be exact per year.

About the only thing raised threat levels cause me to do is double check to be sure I'm telling my kids I love them regularly and appreciating life in general. Nothing much else to do.

I admit that it doesn't change my behavior, although it probably should. The increased amount of Islamic terrorist hatred toward the West is something that we all should be concerned about.

Not really. Fear is the mechanism that makes threat possible. Living in fear of something unknown isn't good for the mind.

Yes. When they go up, I ask myself: "Has Bush and his stupid Middle East policies really made the world a safer place, or have they just created more "terrorists?"

No I cannot change my behavior. The one thing that does change is I increase my prayer time for my country and our soldiers and Israel.
