First of all the Doctor orders the blood test. Then either the nurse, or phlebotomist will draw your blood. There a needle stick, but if you relax, it shouldn't be painful at all. All you'll feel is that first stick. Good luck, and relax. It doesn't take long at all.

It should not be painful if the nurse or lab tech know what he/she is doing. If you get an unexperienced or bad tech or nurse, it may hurt. If you are scared then don't look at what is being done and try to think about something else while the blood is being taken.

not normally but if they use a big syringe or take a lot of blood it might make your arm a little sore.
it shouldn't hurt just ignore it look away and talk to the doctor about something else

You should be fine. Usually it's the nurse that takes the blood and most of them know what they're doing. I would rather have them take it from my arm than the finger! Good luck.

Remember to breathe. Don't hold your breath when you are having your blood drawn. Let the doctor know you are nervous and scared, and a good doctor will reassure you. It's not excruitiating, but there is a prick to the arm, and before you know it, you are done.

They just draw some blood. If the tech is good you will hardly feel it. For the most part it is just like a little sting. You will be fine.

Good luck!

I'm not going to lie... it'll sting a little... but close your eyes... breathe and relax... it's a little pinprick... and it only hurts for a moment... then it's done.

Think of something else, and you'll be amazed how insignificant it was.
