As you may know, Ruud Van Nistelrooy left Man U and is now at Real Madrid, and although he featured as a starting striker for most of last season, he was regularly replaced by Louis Saha towards the end of the season. The starting strikeforce for Man U early on should continue to be Rooney & Saha (provided Rooney can remain on the pitch without getting red-carded)

Checking the current roster, Man U have the following names as strikers:

Strike Squad/Forwards:
8 Wayne Rooney (age 20)
9 Louis Saha (age 28)
14 Alan Smith (age 25 - back from injury)
20 Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (age 33 - back from injury)
S42 Giuseppe Rossi (age 17)
S51 Fraizer Campbell (age 18)

Alan Smith may continue his experiment in midfield, although that is unlikely given his relative ineffectiveness last year (leading to Alex F. looking for some midfield help - he was looking to attract Viera, e.g.). Rossi, the youngster, looked promising last season, and he and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should see some strong minutes from the bench.
