When I am sitting and watching morning news I cruise by Sesame street. Remarked to friend that every time I do I see a screeching BABY ELMO.
I liked the old characters....Placido Flamingo...H.Ross Parrot....
The grownups knew who these characters were derived from.
The creative energy seems to be gone.

It's not easy being dead (or green.) Beyond the great name selection (which may be above the head of many of todays parents) the characters had deeper substance too.

I don't think so. I am a writer and when I die I want my characters in my stories to live on. Do you think Peter Pan is dead because he creator died? Do you think J.M. Barrie would want him to?
