I think the initial question has an answer like this from mom:
As a mother I would wonder of my son's confusion of his gender. I would definately takes steps to help him be more secure in his maculinity, and get psychological help and understanding for him. Do not confuse with 'therapy'. I would have to walk this path carefully with my son, to his 18th birthday. And even encourage him not to have a sex change until he was at least 25 (end of cerebral maturation in males) If for 10 years my son wanted nothing more than to be female, how can I stop him? How can I not love him if he became a her? then again, I always wanted a daughter. (even though I have been taught and believe to change your sex is an abomination and 'in-your-face'ing it to God saying he made a mistake.)

Yes. You are still your parents child. I know it's really difficult to be in the situation that you are in, see if you can find an internet support group for emerging transexuals

I am assuming you mean "accept"...and yes, I would always accept my child, no matter what, but unfortunately not everyone feels the same way.
BTW, there is a big difference between a transsexual and a transvestite, I am assuming you meant transvestite, since I am unaware of any doctors helping transsexuals while they are still minors (of course I could be mistaken about that).
