Invented, yes, I am sure they have. But only the Westernized ones. Note that there are NO patent offices in the Arab world. As far as contributions, they did create the numeric system we use today. However that was done over 2 thousand years ago. Since then, nothing. Had it not been for British Petroleum and Shell Oil, they would still be using camel dung to cook with. Pretty much a parasitic culture.

as a scientist I can tell you that Muslims did NOT have very worthwhile inventions but copied everything from other cultures. When ones mind has been constructed to not ask questions, you do not have that ability to think in the abstract. they're is no free thinking To accomplish, you remain forever backward and no imaginative. They did invent however the suicide vest, car bomb, pedophilia, mysoginy, and the minaret and of course, the flying carpet.
If they were such wonderful inventors then how come they are from the third world?

Yes. Read any book about the history of science...
Most of Ancient Greek knowledge was lost in the West during the Dark Ages. During this time it was taken up by the Islamic caliphates in the Middle East, kept alive and advanced significantly.
The renaissance didn't come from rediscovering the work of the Greeks and Romans directly, it came from the rediscovery of their works through contact with the Arabs who had kept it alive.
It is sad to see more recent movements in some Islamic quarters to destroy this laudable history.

Their were the new follower of the alchemy, the invented many of the artifacts that help Christopher Columbus to reach the New World. Besides they were telling the tail of Aladdin and the Thousand and one nights before Disney. Many of the words used in English and Spanish came from their language: sal (Spa)/salt Eng), acohól (SPA)/alcohol (Eng) and many more. I'm Catholic and I don't agree with many things of Muslims or may be you, but before criticize about a person, group of people or a Nation I've rather seek for information before look stupid critiquing people before know them to support my arguments. Try to be more opened mind next time and remember there are bad people every where we can't judge the majority because the actions of few.

Surprisinigly, and as bad as I hate to say, they have contributed in the early centuries:
In the modern world Islam is seen as many things, but rarely
is it viewed as a source of inspiration and enlightenment.
Though it is a force of enlightenment and it is not only verses of
the Quran that testify to that fact, but also the great body of
scholarship produced during the Middle Ages. While Europe was in the midst of darkness, it was the Muslims, spurred on by the light of their new Deen who picked up the torch of scholarship and science. It was the Muslims who preserved the knowledge of antiquity, elaborated upon it, and finally, passed it on to Europe.
I studied this intensely some years ago... Yes..Thus the contributions of early Islam was so rich, so
voluminous and so varied that it defies this brief
descriptive survey. These Muslims drew from their pre-Islamic
traditions, plus those of the civilizations they came into contact
with and they absorbed what went with their beliefs and rejected what did not. Over the centuries they continued to develop and partake in the pursuit of knowledge with no hesitation. The destruction of Baghdad and the Mongol invasions did not even hinder them from learning and elaborating on the arts and sciences, despite the great destruction of their books and knowledge.
What is happening today, however, is fanaticism and is not Islam as one reads in the Quoram... It is terrorism hiding behind Islam and even though it is, I do not understand why Islamic people(those who are probably NOT terrorists) keep their mouth shut and say nothing.

well, at least muslims didn't kill ANYONE who invented or discovered anything (read: scientist) like church did (Galileo was sent to jail for saying that that earth was circular)
do you know that Quran wrote about foetus forming from age 1 day up to 9 month 14 CENTURIES AGO?
do you know that Quran wrote about how mount in fact make a move though according to human being it stood still ?(Geologists believe 14 CENTURIES LATER that most mountains are formed by movements in the earth’s crust, This model describes the crust of the earth as made up of a number of vast plates that move about at the rate of a few centimeters a year leading to the collision and separation of continents and the subsequent development of mountain belts)

Masya Allah YES! The Muslim empire had a wonderful golden age in the past, ranging from the sciences to society (early development of democracy by haivng the syrah (consultation))
Modern day algebra was developed by Al-Khawirizmi.
Ibn Sina(980-1037) (Avicenna in western world) wrote a definitive text "The Cannon of Medicine" that was used in European Medical schools until the 16th Century.
there are heaps others but those are the ones I can think offhand

Well the Arab people have added a lot to the makeup of mankind. However, the most important would have to be BEER. Since the Muslims aren’t a race, it’s hard to say what they invented or added. It’s easy to say that an American invented the cotton gin but does anyone know his religion, probably not.
