why pick john terry for england captain? stevie g is much more of a leader and more passionate about what he does

dont be silly, JT is a better player who is respected a lot more, he plays for as a bigger club in a better team and obviously mclaren realised this, no brainer really.

All the player want their captain be adult as they dont want to be ruled by the player who were once their fan. And they want captain having better skill than them. Both things are found in John terry.
He has showed his power of leading in previous two seasons. He also can handle team in bad situation by keeping the opponent goalkeeper busy.
Lets hope gerrard be the next choice

Mclaren made another bad decision by closing the football career of David Beckham, every one knows that no-one out there can place a football as good as Beckham and that has won a lot of games, his free kicks and corner taking from either side is beyond a lot of footballers. David was very close to Sven Erricson and it is well known the he went to David for advice now and then so did this get up Mclaren's nose, and is this a bit of got you, but anyway you will get your 100th cap David, they cant keep you out too long, they will need you more than you need them Good luck lad

Because JOHN TERRY is one of the BEST defenders in the world. Not only defender, he can play [practically] everywhere! He's a team player. I LOVE HIM!!

It's because of where they play on the field. A defender can see more of the play so makes a better captain.
