There is a long, drawn out answer to this and a very short one. The short answer is Probably Not. Why? well, then the long answer explains. The killer whale or more commonly known as Orca (Orcinus Orca) isn't really a whale. It's the largest member of the Dolphin family. But because of it's size, diet and it's reputation of being the 'wolf of the sea' makes it a formidable predator. It's can even attack young blue whales. Their only real enemy are human beings. Now, whether the Orcas are aware of this, I don't know. But I do know that Orcas dive very very deep to feed or they 'beach' themselves to prey on seals, birds and other small aquatic life. Like any living creature that wants to preserve their life, If it feels threatened it will retaliate. Especially if there are young, sick or injured members in their pod. So, if you just happen to be miles away from shore swimming in the ocean with a dagger in your hand trying to stab a passing Orca, it most likely would just slap you silly with it's tail.

tsk, your questions contradict each other, first you ask 'if you were swimming in the ocean and killer whales came by would they attack u?' and the answer is no, and to your second, 'can you swim amoungst KW and not get attacked?' the answer is yes, their ecology and basic lifestyle does not allow for them to start consumign human beings. they do not recognise us as a food source, and as their madula ablongata is abnormally advanced, i.e. they have the same basic thought as humans or dolphins, they can think, hey, i dont eat this, whereas sharks find it harder to differenciate, and anything fleshy and edible which emits electrostatic waves throughout the water is a likely candidate to be eaten. sharks eat other sharks much of the time, but you never ever get killer whales eating killer whales. a favourite food source for the killer whale is actually the toungue of the blue whale, this is because of it's imense size and lack of bones and very dense matter. making it even less likely a killer whale would try to consume a human full of bones and bits and pieces.
so unless you are caught mauling a pup (baby), and the mother feels like having a go at you, you are totally safe with these guys. beleive me, id bet my life on it...literally

The killer whale might get curious, but the answer is no. The killer whale is an intelligent creature and does know that man is not food, but it will attack if they cornered, threatened, or feel that their young are being being threatened. But then again, you have to be really stupid to attack something that big and is one of the few animals that will occasionally prey on a great white shark.

zar had a very good answer. One way you can prove this is the fact that both sharks and KW's eat seals and sea lions. A human paddling on a surfboard or boogie board look very much like seals from underneath and are sometimes attacked by sharks. KW's can tell (by sonar) what you really are and choose not to eat you. Just an example of how they are discriminating about what they eat.
