hi, i think that although you want her to stay your little girl you have to give her credit for noticing things that she doesn't like on her face. she is only 11 but if shes beginning to feel uncomfortable with her look, i don't think there could be any harm in maybe taming them a bit, maybe not arched arched but thinner and more satisfying for her and you too...meet half way with it ..tell her your quite happy to go so far to clean them up a bit but then she will have to accept the rest to be done when older.shes gonna grow up remember so don't fight it just go with it.........

Arching no. Thinning yes. I suggest taking her to a salon and getting them wazed to a degree that's appropriate for her age. Tweezing hurts much more then waxing so if your looking to scare her out of messing with her eyebrows anymore then pluck. But remember when they grow back ten times worse and she's lying in bed crying because that stupid pep squad girl called her 'catipillar eyebrows' then know that this is what you chose for her. And she'll most likely blame you for letting her do it.
Self confidence is very fragile when it comes to pre teens and she needs to feel pretty to be happy. If she's getting teased then this is definately something you should do. And just keep in mind it could be worse she could be asking for a belly button ring, tatoo, or a mullet. I remember being eleven and not being aloud to do anything to my very thick dark eyebrows and I resented my parents very much for it all year and every time I got teased. When I turned twelve my parents let me get them waxed and I was very happy. Your little girl sounds like a very sweet person and you could always throw some responsibility into this situation like, "I'll take you to the salon and get them waxed, not arched, just waxed. But I want you to pay for it." It's pretty cheap only ten dollars and some chores around the house can easily earn her ten dollars.
You won't regret letting your daughter get them waxed, but you might if you say no or try to scare her out of getting them done.
I hope this helps.

I would normally say no to this question, but if her eyebrows are really that thick and she feels bad about it, then yes. I would take her to have it done and explain to the person that is going to do it not to arch them and don't take allot off, just slim them down a little bit just so she doesn't feel bad about it anymore. You can always pluck her brows when you see them starting to grow out again.

I am 23 years old, I started getting my eyebrows done at 17 years, but I do not have thick eyebrows. I really believe you should let her do it confidence is everything to a pre-teen. If you thick and she thinks it is the right thing to do then go for it, but you might want to let her know that if she starts now she will have to keep up with it. AND diffidently go to a salon I saw a girl who did one of those at home kits and she waxed off. 3/4ths of her left eyebrow. Good Luck - - Just a hint soak down a cotton ball with Visene Red Out -apply to brow - it will reduce redness faster.

You should let her trim her eyebrows. She sounds like a good kid and has good grades.
But help her to understand that she should have confidence in herself no matter how she looks. It's important at this age that she knows who she is because styles change and the idea of beauty changes through time. Besides girls will always find a way to tease you about something to make them feel better! She needs to learn to tell them to back off!
It's tougher now a days!

It is a very grown up thing to do and 11 is quite young. It also hurts! Maybe you can suggest that you teach her how to pluck her own eyebrows and monitor it with her. This may make her feel even more grown up without actually taking a trip to the salon. However, if you think she is getting made fun of- take her to a professsional. Middle school is hard!

I dont think it would hurt. I was getting my hair dyed and permed by the time I was 9. *So, thats my problem...wow.* No, really, I think if you sit her down and tell her, 'Ok, you can either get your eyebrows arched or shave your legs *whatever* this year', it could control the 'growing up too fast' problem.
Also once she feels the pain of getting her eyebrows arched.....well she might give in.

I think its fine some what.... Just don't let them go too thin. Make sure she knows what she's doing. Make sure she knows that the shape of the eye brow is correct when the beginning of the brow is aligned with the center of the nostril and the arch falls over the back of the third of the eye.

I say let her do it! While you tell her she's beautiful no matter what, obviously her eyebrows still bother her. It's not as if she's asking for something like breast implants, or having her nails done in an expensive salon...sounds like she's a smart, sweet girl, so I would say yes. There are 'bigger' issues to say no about...and trust me, you'll know what I'm talking about in a couple more years, maybe even sooner!

i think that she is still just a baby , but then again, maybe it makes her feel self conscious and makes her feel less worthy and maybe the kids at school tease her. Since kids can be very mean!....eyebrows grow back, maybe just let her get it done once and maybe she will/won't decide to do it again. At least it isn't a piercing!
