You know I'm a girl and I never realized that either, but the only reason I was a long time ago was because of my jerk ex husband. He made me feel like I had to measure up to them and if I didn't I thought he wouldn't love me. He wanted me to be perfect and no one is! I don't think anyone should care about the celebrities because we are who we are for a reason.

They are consumed with the lusts of the flesh, rather than the gifts of the spirit. Money and having fun play the biggest part, but money and fun cannot cover up a depraved personality and a total lack of God in a person's life.

because celebrities usually, for many people, represent success, wealth, beauty and envy. that's what the media tells us, and being constantly reminded of it everyday ( magazines, radio, tv.....) people ( not only girls, c'mon) envy them. Though the reality of celebrities may be far from what the magazines tell us, people are obssessed with the glitz and glamour they see.

Is it silly? Trivial? Useless?
Girls are treated as if they don't count, so their judgment becomes impaired and they treat soap operas, celebrities, and movies as if they were real parts of everyday life instead of fantasy.
People who are reared as if they were going to become reliable adults don't fall into such nonsense.

Same reason guys whack off to photos of girls in magazines- they're beautiful, deified and mysterious.
