stoping the terorist attack in the major airports of britain.
i do what a fantastic job they have done. we must all thank the police for this fantastic job and keep up the brilliant work. they always and every day put there lives on the line for us civilians and when you hear about somthing like this it just gives me more faith in the police of this country. the point is we all slag off the police but when you hear somthing like this which could affect all of us in someway ie family and friends traveling family and friends who work at these airports and work on the airoplanes that they was intending to attack. once again i must thank them from the bottom of my heart.......

the statement mr powel made at the time was very contrversial and still remains the same today but i can understand peoples feelings but did you know alot of imagrants came over for work and that was because the british people dint want to do the work that the imagrants would.now we go on about this and that but maybe we should blame our grandfarthers and great grandfathers generation.but thats another discussion. my feelings are i come from a lithuanian father who came here to work and did till his dying day, he worked every day and died going into work to do a job he loved. he was white and it dint show he was from a foriegn country but i know lots of familys of black jamaican people who came here for the same reason who get the blame for taking white mens jobs but the jamaican people who came here to do these jobs was the ones who helped us builed this country after the war.

After Stockwell and Forest Gate, today's success goes some way to restoring confidence in the police service. Unfortunately, it is incidents like the aforementioned two that are well remembered by the public, yet the ongoing day-to-day work of the police is goes largely unnoticed. I know they don't always get things right, and have even been the victim of some very shoddy police work myself, but we shouldn't condemn them all for the mistakes of a few. So, given the potential level of death and destruction that could have happened today, I think those involved in this particular investigation deserve our utmost support and gratitude.

I would love to thank all the police involved with the foiling.of this plot! I couldn't handle and I don't think 'anybody' could handle another tragic and chaotic event unfolding once again due to the mindless terrorist scum of the Earth.
I mean, imagine how it could have been if this plot wasn't foiled. I am so thankful and so glad that the Police force have acted so quickly, professionally and made arrests already!

I think the police are not thanked enough whichever way. My dad is a retired cop and my best friend is currently a cop (they hate the word "cop" too, lol) and they call their job the most "thankless" job in the world. People thank the fireman for saving their life, but when a police officer does his job they call it "harrassment". I always thank the police and think others should as well.

I have to agree.
It is very easy to criticise the security services and police (not that I'm not guilty of this) but this kind of incident, bred in small terrorist cells, is really hard to break up or stop and they have done a tremendous job!

At least we take heed to our warnings. Yes its a good thing, yes they get it wrong ocassionally, but that doesnt mean they should pack up. We beat the terrorists that were the IRA, now we have to beat the extremists too in whatever way we can.

it is a truly thankless job. the only attention they get is when things go wrong. keeping streets and countries safe is expected, and no one notices when they are safe, they notice when they are in danger. i am glad when they get publicity for making saves like that. they are working hard every day for people who may never realize it is a constant struggle to maintain safety and security. God bless them all. good save UK!

Yes' of course I do, this is huge and they have probably stopped something totally devastating from happening its almost impossible to express my gratitude to them in mere words, but thankyou, thankyou, thankyou! I was very surprised to see nothing about it on this website, until your question, good for you!

If they would have listened to Enoch Powell in the first place, things like this wouldn't be a problem in the UK.
