Firstly, I've never been divorced.
However - I've seen plenty of marriages that have led to divorce. As far as 'belief' goes, I don't feel there's any religious or legal reason not to allow it.
I know from my own life that I have changed dramatically since I was younger. I am not the same person I once was (thankfully) and my wants, needs, and priorities are much different now than they were when I was younger. I'm sure the same could be said for anyone.
Since people change so much as they age, surely the best-possible mate for them will change too. While no one likes divorces, they are not hard to understand.
In the past, people felt obligated to stick it out and live miserable lives. This is no longer the case, and if both people in a relationship feel they'd be happier without the other, divorce is an option they must consider.
I genuinely feel many couples in the past could have been happier if they'd have chosen to get divorced, but due to social, religious, and family pressures, they stayed together...at least on paper.
I don't feel unhappy relationships are any better than divorce. On the contrary- an unhappy relationship can result in many more problems for all involved than a happy divorce can.

Only if the marriage is abusive. I believe if you marry, you stay married. You don't drop someone simply because you don't like them.
Hindu's marry, and believe that you'll be married in several lifetimes thereafter. There is seldom divorce.
In Muslim countries, divorce carries a great stigma for women as well as men. It's also seldom done.
Marriage is for a lifetime. If you can't commit, don't sign the contract.
