this is because some drug manufactures make 30day pack and other 28 pill packs the prescription must have said 3 months and in the eyes of the law when it comes to drugs 28 or 30 is a month if you need more pills you may have to sea your GP . have a look at the box if the is POM in a box you need to see the GP if it has a P in a box the pharmacist can give you them and if it has GSL you can buy them your self if there is CD you will find it hard to get more as these have big controls on them

I used to be a dispenser and you have to by law give the exact quantity on the prescription. I f your doctor wrote 90 tabs then you should have recieved 90 tablets. If the doctor wrote 3 months on the prescription then you will recieve three blister packs of 28.

A month is classed as 28 days.
3 a day for one month = 84 tablets or 3 packets of 28.
The pharmacist is correct

Then your chemist owes you another 6 tablets. If S/He won't give them to you - then complain to the Royal Society of Pharmacists.

My GP did the same for me after a car crash. He prescribed a stronger pain killer than you can buy in the shop and gave me three months supply. two months ago I went to buy flu medicine (for me and my husband) so bought 4 packets and got asked whay I wanted so many - then had to get permission for the pharmacist. Daft rules eh!!
