I'm not talking here concerning today's breaking news but rather the disproportionate number of Scottish socialists in Westminster. I've just been listening to two Labour spokesmen spouting about today's events and, of course, both were Scots, namely Reid and Alexander. No doubt Blair, Brown etc will be getting their oars in later. Even as a wholly patriotic Scot I'm beginning to think too much is too much.

The problem as I understand it, is not too dissimilar to that experienced here in the US. The paucity of education amongst the English and their lack of political nous.

As I understand it the education in Scotland is far superior to that offered in England despite the fact that both are in the same larger country.

geegee, you forget, why does the UK always have to get the approval of the US? Look at Blair at G8. Your country cannot act independently any longer, so it is a greater malaise

We should be on the streets in our millions all round the world DEMANDING World Peace!

Tollerant... this comes with understanding and respect...

I don't see much of this going on today... i have heard thingd in town today that would make your blood curdle my friend... when people (these where the younger generation spurting hate) star like this, then i find very hard myself to hold back judgement... and i am a Peace Person...

what I heard was a blatant lack of respect for the countries citizens... i am glad that this was seemingly more in humour although... but if the wrong people had heard what was said, then i think the outcome could have been a bit more intollerant definately!

Funny thing... I think Mr. Reid seems a cool Scotsman! I kind of like his no double standards have a go twang!

You Scots a famed for your Patriotism... I think it is good that Mr. Reid is giving us brits a helping hand...

Good Question!

Peace!

Have a go at the electorial procedures that allow Scots to sit in westminster rather than having a go at the Scots. It's not their fault, they are just working within the system that is available to them.

Definately - and soft. Why should Scotland have their own parliament then get the English parliament to fund it. Why should they also get to vote on English laws when they don't apply in Scotland On the bigger issue why should the UK be told what to do by some men in Brussels. It's about time we started controlling our own affairs and our own country rather than trying to appease everybody else.

Given Britain's history of conquest around the world, what do you expect them to be like now that those "conquered" people want to move to their mother country: Britain? You indirectly adopted those people, so you have to be tolerant.
