So Liberals.......you cant talk about differences in cultures especially if they are negative or if you are white because they will dismiss you by calling you a RACIST. They go to Thailand every summer as if it makes them soo different yet they have no Thai friends
They want everyone to be the same based on their white middle class imperialist agenda...they invitte people into this country bcs they think it makes them look more civilized than the rest of europe, when you complain they say you are Racist....but hey ...last time i went to a liberalist house i didnt see any SOMALIANS sitting at the table at their dinner party. I dont see them sending their children to the local comprehensive. They LOVE BLACK PEOPLE but they cannot solve the problem of young black boys failing in education They LOVE PAKISTANIS but they cannot solve the problem of high unemployment amongst them. They love blacks so much they LIVE IN BRIXTON with no black friends

Hmm a lot in here... but to answer a few points...

I went to Nepal at Easter, and got friendly with a few Nepalese, even though they were employed to help/serve us when over there. Should I have not employed them, and denied them a livelihood? And due to the fact that very few of them have internet access, or even access to a phone, I cannot stay in touch with them. Does that make it wrong that I went to visit this beautiful country, and help their economy as a tourist? Does that make it wrong that I feel sympathy for their plight, and feel sympathy for the orphans over there?

Maybe your own attitude towards these people explains why they have no black friends....

I was lucky to have grown up with many asian (both Hindu and Muslim) friends, and many black friends. I am lucky now to work in a place where I can appreciate a rich cultural diversity. But maybe I am different from the people you are complaining about - I don't like people who are arseholes, and don't care who they are - I'll let them know if I don't like them.

And what makes you think anyone in this country wants everyone to be the same? Give me an example of anyone who does. I love the difference between people in this country, and found that I have more in common with pakistanis from Blackburn than anyone from London. There is far more difference on a national regional basis in this country than based on ethnic background, I've found. Anyone from liverpool will have more in common with anyone else from Liverpool than with anyone from Bradford, for example. It is due to the heritage from the area - shared experiences.

Stating that white people cannot solve the problems of young black boys failing in education or of high unemployment amongst pakistanis makes me think you blame white people for these problems - when really the black families on an individual basis and the pakistani families on an individual basis need to address these problems directly. Can people form Kent solve the unemployment problem in Scotland? Should they? Or could they do something to help start the ball rolling (if they have the power to do so) than allow the unemployed in Scotland to solve their own predicament? Less victim mentallity would be a good start for everyone (its not my fault, its everyone else's fault...).

So sympathising with the plight of people does not neccasitate having those people directly in your life, appreciating and celebrating other cultures does not require you to be directly a part of that culture, and individual problems should be left to individuals to solve, not some far distant person who waves a magic wand.

But to be fair, i don't know directly the people you are talking about, maybe they really are arseholes. I know a hell of a lot of people are, especially middle class people. Can be so patronising.

Well tired black woman. My partner was a liberal He taught maths in a huge inner city school though he could have taught in a university. He chose to live and bring up his kids in Handsworth Birmingham, though he had a income to live where he chose. as a result his children have a huge multiracial friendship base, feel comfortable no matter where they are. And you know what I don't remember having any Somalians at our table either Oh yes and we managed all that being a gay white couple in a prejudiced area. The prejudice coming from the Blacks!

Hi,your statement is true.However no matter what creed or colour
it takes two to tango.There is also high unemployment in the white sector.My husband has to work in another country as we nearly lost our home.So if its unemployment let them do what my hubby does.By the way he hates having to work away from home
